Nine months seems like a long time for something remaining to move out. I just had a colostomy done in August (due to trauma), and I can't say that anything has come out. Also, there are "phantom" feelings that we can experience - where you feel like there is a need to go. If that is the case, sometimes acting out a movement (with very little pushing) alleviates the feeling. However if there is something coming out, then talk to your doctor/surgeon. There could be a rupture of the rectal closing that they performed. Good luck...and good question!

I would say it is possible, but it would seem to me that the material must be old, clotted blood, or sloughed-off lining. I would check with your surgeon. You may have a leak.

This can happen but I would get to a doctor to have it checked out.
